PLYO members advocate for the rights of HIV-positive youth on a national and international scale. By doing so, they show policymakers the power of letting youth lead, while proving to their peers that they, too, can achieve amazing things despite HIV and other challenges.
PLYO members have attended numerous international conferences. From receiving scholarships to attend AIDS 2016 to being invited to present at the Radio Days Africa conference in 2017, to an upcoming presentation at AIDS 2018.
PLYO in the Press
PLYO members are vocal spokespersons against HIV-related stigma and discrimination.
National Roundtables and Events
From roundtables to youth consortia, PLYO members are active in groups and discussions across Lesotho to foster youth collaboration and make our voices heard.
Barefoot Walk Lesotho
In 2018, PLYO members led the Barefoot Walk campaign in Lesotho, joining an international movement to support children who can't attend school because they lack shoes, sanitary pads, and other basic necessities. For forty days, PLYO members walked barefoot in the middle of Lesotho's freezing winter to raise awareness for this important cause.
